The action's fast-paced, the actors fit their roles, and the 'don't trust the government'
undertone is timely. Yet there's something off about Shooter that keeps it from being a real first-rate thriller. Plot holes and a couple of badly miscast supporting players hurt the film and unfortunately no amount of shooting or blowing things up can save Shooter from just missing its target.
